Never use the the wheelchair’s parking brakes to change direction
while driving in cruise mode. Your wheelchair brakes are parking brakes
which are designed to keep the wheelchair in its parking position, not
service brakes. Other than for parking, the brakes may only be used in
an emergency.
Always keep an eye on the road ahead of you since the wheelchair’s
wheels can become blocked in the case of obstacles and bumps in the
road and this can lead to crashes with severe injuries. To avoid danger-
ous situations, only climb or descend kerbs with cruise mode deactivat-
ed. Using cruise mode at hazard points, especially the following listed
points, is not allowed:
Quay walls, landing stages and docks, paths and locations close to
water, unsecured bridges and embankments.
Narrow paths, inclines (e.g. ramps and driveways), narrow paths
on a slope, mountain paths.
Narrow and/or steep downward/sloping paths on main roads and
side streets or near precipices.
Routes covered in leaves or snow or that are icy.
Ramps and lifting devices on vehicles.
If there is impermissible use, this is considered to be misuse of the
device. Alber declines all liability for resulting damages.
