Cable data - GE
The following figure displays the cable design for the Gigabit Ethernet (GE) LA cable.
As GE interfaces are bidirectional, the MDI wiring conforms to the IEEE 802.3-2002
standard. Based on this standard, the MDI-X (cross-over) functions for bidirectional GE
interfaces are not compatible with the MDI-X functions for E/FE interfaces.
The following figure displays the MDI connector for MDI-X functions and is denoted
with the symbol 'X'.
