14)
ANS
ANS-2 was added in Release 5.0 of the 3600 MainStreet Multiservice Bandwidth
Managers. In Release 6.0, the creation of a new ANS-1 network was blocked. In
Releases 6.0 and 6.1, ANS-1 is fully supported (topology configuration is allowed) if
pre-6.0 nodes within an established ANS-1 network are upgraded to Release 6.0 and
higher. Upgrade to ANS-2 could then take place.
In Releases 7.x and later releases, ANS-1 is obsolete. ANS-1 topology configuration
will be lost if nodes in an established ANS-1 network are upgraded to Release 7.x or
later. ANS-1 must be upgraded to ANS-2 before the nodes are upgraded to Release
7.x or later.
15)
LS-DV router compatibility
Router version 2 is also referred to as LS router. Router version 1 is referred to as DV
router.
No changes were made in Release 9.0 that affect LS-DV router compatibility that
existed in Release 5.x loads. The implementation of the DV router in CPSSv2 is
completely compatible with the previous implementation in CPSSv1.
However, the LS router is only somewhat compatible with the DV router. All DV
routing entities must be directly connected to LS routing entities. DV routing nodes
that are not directly connected to an LS routing node will not be seen by any LS
routers.
16)
FRE and PE cards in 3600 MainStreet single, dual, and PU shelves
Due to the extra power requirements of FRE and PE cards, it is recommended that
double-harness (i.e., two-cable) power supply harnesses be used in 3600 MainStreet
single, dual, and PU shelves containing these cards. As well, the FRE and PE cards
should be placed in every second slot to maximize heat dissipation.
17)
Limit of E3 circuits configured for OOS
Due to the large processing requirement to perform A/B switches in 3600 MainStreet
multishelf systems, the maximum number of circuits that should be configured for
OOS detection is 375 (approximately 12 E1s configured for CCS). If this limit is
exceeded, the SE3/DE3 peripheral may go out of service if all circuits detect OOS
simultaneously.
18)
1.544 Mb/s SU composite clock external synch source
Support for 3600 MainStreet multishelf SU 1.544 Mb/s composite clock external sync
source requires minimum ISSU F/W ID of $2.
19)
4WTO interface
Tx/Rx on the interfaces of the 4WTO card are as defined in Bellcore specification
TR-NWT-000057, not as they are on the 4WT0 module on the 3624 MainStreet unit.
