Installing the OmniAccess 5305 Business Gateway

1

Choosing a suitable location

The OmniAccess 5305 BG must be installed within 2 metres of a dedicated mains
power outlet.

Do not place the unit close to a heat source (such as other electrical equipment) or
in direct sunlight.

Avoid locations exposed to heavy soiling due to exhaust from machinery, airborne
particles from industrial processes or excessive dust.

Do not enclose the device within an unventilated housing where heat may
accumulate.

2

Connecting the telephone service

Your telecommunications equipment can be plugged into the

Voice

ports either

directly or via a suitable converter. This depends on the OmniAccess 5305 BG
model and the type of equipment on your premises.

2.1      Where a product has a BRI Port , this will be configured in NT mode, and as

such is classified as SELV (Safe Extra Low Voltage). This port must not be
connected to a TNV (Telecom Network Voltage) network. For example the
BRI port must not be connected to a port with wiring that is either directly or
indirectly external to the building.

2.2

The BRI ports must not connected to another NT mode port, this includes
other ISDN network terminating equipment (ISDN lines delivered by other
providers). The action of connecting an NT configured port to an NT port may
cause damage to both pieces of equipment.
