Shipping the System

Firmly grasp the failed fuse and pull (see Figure 26).

Obtain and insert an appropriately rated fuse. Refer to Appendix B for ordering
information. (10 amp 125 V dc, wire-type, fast acting, red/white alarm indicator)

FAIL
LED indicator is not illuminated and the green
ACTIVE
LED indicator is illuminated.

Shipping the System
The PSAX 2300 chassis can be shipped as a standalone chassis without the modules
installed. The chassis and modules can also be shipped when mounted in an equip-
ment rack as part of a system. Follow the appropriate packing and shipping practices
for telecommunications equipment when shipping the PSAX 2300 chassis in either
situation.
Shipping a Standalone System
Perform the following procedure to prepare the PSAX 2300 system for shipment as a
standalone unit.
WARNING:

Do not ship the standalone chassis with the modules installed. Lateral forces
imposed on the chassis during shipping could damage the midplane components
and the installed modules.

Shut down the system as described in “Shutting Down the System” on page 45.

After removing power from the system, disconnect all cabling.

Remove all modules from the chassis, place them in ESD packaging, and then
place them in sturdy cartons with an appropriate packing material (use the origi-
nal packaging if you saved it).

While supporting the chassis, remove the mounting screws and remove the chas-
sis from the equipment rack.
Note:
It is recommended that two installers perform this procedure.
