Engineering service channels
The equipment comprises:

in the classic IDU configuration: five engineering service channels (ESC N

in the 2 x 2 Mbit/s configuration (only three ESC).

in the Light IDU configuration: two engineering service channels (ESC N

1 and ESC N

3).
In the main classic IDU and in the Light IDU, the characteristics of these engineering service channels are
predefined.
The extension IDU (classic IDU version) can be used to customize ESC N

3, N

4 and N
_
5. This unit has a
SCU board installed with daughter boards to customize ESC N
_
3 and N
_
4.
The table below summarizes the ESC options available according to whether the configuration includes a main
