Procedure 18-3 To set the device gender
Select DTE if the device connected to the RS-232 DCM circuit is DCE. Select DCE if the
device is DTE.

18.5
Full duplex
Full-duplex transmission uses two independent transmission paths, one in each
direction, allowing two connected devices to transmit and receive data
simultaneously.
You cannot configure the duplex method for RS-232 DCMs; it is automatically set
to full duplex. If the RS-232 DCM is designated as a multidrop slave, the duplex
method is automatically set to half duplex.
18.6
RTS/CTS delay
The RTS/CTS delay regulates data flow on half-duplex lines. For more information,
see section 17.6.
The range for RTS/CTS delay is 0 to 140 ms in 10-ms increments. Specify the delay
in tens of ms from 0 to 14 where, for example, 0 is 0 ms, 2 is 20 ms, 14 is 140 ms.
The default is 0 ms.
The actual delay time may be up to 20 ms longer than the configured delay time. For
example, by setting the RTS/CTS delay time to 0 ms, an actual delay of 0 to 20 ms
could result.
Procedure 18-4 To set the RTS/CTS delay
The RTS/CTS softkey appears only if the circuit is configured as a multidrop data bridge
slave.
