Keep a secure grip on the ladder when ascending
and descending. Maintain a handhold whilst working
from a ladder or take additional safety precautions if
you cannot.

Do not use the ladder to bridge distances or as a
bridge.
− Wear suitably sturdy shoes when you climb onto the ladder.

Avoid working on the ladder with a one-sided load,
e.g. drilling sideways through solid materials (e.g.
bricks or concrete).
− Do not remain too long on the ladder without regular pauses
(tiredness is a danger). Climb off of the ladder immediately if
you feel tired.
