For the optimal and long-lasting performance of your patio heater, the following maintenance measures
should be carried out regularly :
• Keep the outer surfaces clean.
• Use warm soapy water for cleaning. Never use flammable or corrosive cleaning agents.
• When cleaning the appliance, take care not to get the burner and pilot area wet. If the gas control
has become wet in any way, do not attempt to use the appliance. The control must be replaced.
• Nothing should obstruct the airflow. Ensure that the control, burner and airflow openings are clean.
• Clues to determine whether a blockage exists are as follows:
- Gas smell and extremely yellow flame.
- The appliance does not reach the desired temperature.
- The glow emitted by the appliance is not at all uniform.
- The appliance makes a jerky noise.
• The burner holes may be blocked by spiders or insects. This can damage the burner or make it
unsafe to use. Clean the burner openings with a heavy-duty pipe cleaner. Finer particles can be
removed with compressed air.
• Carbon residues may cause a fire. If carbon residue is present, clean the reflector and burner with
hot soapy water.
Note :
In a salty atmosphere (near the sea), traces of rust appear more quickly than normal.
Check the appliance regularly for rust spots and treat them quickly if necessary.
