9-3 Display setting according to the terminal software
9-3-1 BBSMSGS command
Abbrev. BBS default: OFF parameter: ON/OFF
Example: BBS OFF
This is to select how to output messages from the TNC. If ON is selected, the CR code is added
before the message such as “*** disconnected” is output. These messages must begin at the start
of a line, so it is easy for the terminal software to detect it. The connect request message such as
“*** connect request:--“ does not appear. By selecting BBSMSGS “ON” and CONOK “OFF”, the
unwanted message won’t interfere while receiving a file. “OFF” position was commonly used in
older generation TNCs, which did not include the CR before a message.
9-3-2 RXBLOCK command
Abbrev. RX default: OFF parameter: ON/OFF
Example: RX OFF
If “ON” is selected, the ID block with $FF is structured on the data from the connected station in
converse mode ONLY. It is handy when necessary to identify the data connected through the
terminal software. OFF is default.
Identified blocks are $FF,LH,LL,PID,DATA-UNIT in order.
$FF= 1bite. To identify the beginning of the block.
LH= Block length High bite (1 bite. 1111 is fixed for the higher 4 bits)
LL= Block length Low bite (1bite)
PID= Protocol Identifier. The value of reception control field.
DATA-UNIT= The content of the receiving packe
