Chapter 4
Configure the Base 857 Relay
External I/O configuration for 857-RAD
Follow these steps to select the external I/O device type and protocol.
1. Under Protocol Configuration, select External I/O Configuration.
2. Click the External I/O Device Type.
3. Select 857-RAD.
4. Click External I/O Protocol.
5. Select ModBus.
The External I/O Bit Rate should be set to 9600 bits per second (bps) and the
Data Parity is always Even.

IMPORTANT
If a parameter is changed, it will be highlighted in red. This indicates that a
change has been made and this data must be uploaded into the base relay.
Once saved to the relay, the relay may request a reboot (restart) depending
on the setting changed.
