Check that the engine stop lever moves freely and returns to it’s rest
position when released.
Place the throttle control to the start position, ensure that the fuel tap
is in the ‘On’ position and the tank vent is open (if fitted).
Release the handlebar from it’s parked position. Hold the engine stop
lever against the handlebar, place your foot on the deck and tilt the
mower towards you. This will take the load off the engine making it
easier to start.
Pull the starter grip lightly until you feel resistance, then pull briskly.
Return the starter grip gently.
The engine stop lever must be held firmly against the handlebar to
start and keep the engine running. If the engine stop lever is
released the engine will stop.
Allow the engine to warm up and move the throttle lever to the
‘
run
’ position after starting a cold engine.
To prevent damage never pull the engine start grip when the
engine is running.
