Installing Ethernet Line Cards
This section contains the procedure for installing Ethernet line cards in the
chassis. The illustrations show the AT-XEM2-12XT Line Card. The
procedure is the same for all line card models.
Caution
The device can be damaged by static electricity. Be sure to follow
proper anti-static precautions when installing the device. Allied
Telesis recommends using a properly grounded wrist strap or other
personal anti-static device and an anti-static mat.
To install Ethernet line cards, perform the following procedure:
1. Choose a slot in the chassis for the card. You can install cards in slots
1 to 8.
2. If the slot is covered with a blank panel, use a #2 Phillips-head
screwdriver to loosen the two captive screws on the panel and remove
it from the chassis. Refer to Figure 49.
