Finding the IP
Address
Assigned to a
AT-VP504E
FXO
You do not know the IP address assigned to the AT-VP504E FXO by
the DHCP server if:
You have not previously reserved an IP address in the
DHCP server for a specific MAC address.
You have chosen not to use static IP addresses.
Once the AT-VP504E FXO is connected to a compatible Ethernet
interface that supplies TCP/IP network access (e.g. router, switch, hub
or computer), you must find its IP address to access its configuration
web pages. You will need the MAC address of the specific AT-VP504E
FXO for which you want to know the assigned IP address. The MAC
address is printed on the label located on the bottom side of the
AT-VP504E FXO (some previous versions of the device may not have
the MAC address on the label).
There are two ways to find an IP address:
by using the Syslog daemon
This must be done after reverting to factory default settings,
otherwise you will not be able to access the web pages to
specify an IP address for the Syslog daemon.
by looking into the DHCP server of your network
Allied Telesyn recommends to reserve an IP address in the
DHCP Server before installing the AT-VP504E FXO on the
network. You will need the AT-VP504E FXO’s MAC address
as unique identifier.
To find the IP address with the Syslog daemon:

In the Configuration page, go to the IP Configuration section
and enter the IP address of the server running the Syslog
daemon. Make sure that you check the Static option on the
right.
