Installing the
AT-VP504E FXO
Hardware
Allied Telesyn recommends to reserve an IP address for the
AT-VP504E FXO in the DHCP Server before installing it on the
network. You will need the MAC address of each AT-VP504E FXO you
are installing as unique identifier.
To install the AT-VP504E FXO hardware:
1.
Connect the power cord to the AT-VP504E FXO and then
connect the power cable to an electrical outlet.
The AT-VP504E FXO powers up. You do not need to wait for
the device to complete its power up cycle before proceeding
to the next step.
2.
Connect standard PSTN telephone lines to Ports 1, 2, 3, and
4.
The AT-VP504E FXO supports both Loop Start and Ground
Start lines.
Warning:
To avoid electrical shock, apply the following instructions:
•
The device must be installed by technical personnel.
•
Make sure the ground path is connected.
•
The power supply cord is used as the main disconnect device, so
ensure that the equipment is installed near a socket-outlet that is
easily accessible.
•
Disconnect the 4 PSTN interface connectors before disconnecting
the power cord from the device.
Warning:
To reduce the risk of fire, use only No. 26 AWG or larger
telecommunication line cord.
