Algorithm
The preferred voice-coding algorithm used by the
AT-VP504E FXO when placing calls.
Value: G.711 A-law, G.711 µ-law, G.723, G.729a,
FAX
Default Value: G.711 A-law.
Note: Select the FAX option if you want to ensure
that both the receiving and sending
AT-VP504E FXOs do not use the G.723 voice-
coding algorithm (which cannot be used for fax
transmissions). When the FAX option is selected,
only G.711 A-law and G.711 u-law are offered in the
AT-VP504E FXO capabilities.
Input Sound Level
The sound level, in dB, received by the
AT-VP504E FXO.
Value: +12, +6, 0, -6, -12, -18, -24, -30, -36
Default Value: -6 dB
Output Sound
Level
The sound level, in dB, sent by the
AT-VP504E FXO.
Value: +12, +6, 0, -6, -12, -18, -24, -30, -36
Default Value: -6 dB
Jitter Buffer
Protection
The level of jitter buffer protection, which allows for
better protection against packet loss, but increases
the voice delay. If the network to which the
AT-VP504E FXO is connected suffers from a high
level of congestion, the level of jitter buffer
protection should be higher. If the network to which
the AT-VP504E FXO is connected suffers from a
low level of congestion, the level of jitter buffer
protection should be lower.
Value: Very low, Low, High, Very high
Default Value: Low
