Packed 12-Bit Mode
All Guppy PRO models have the so-called
Packed 12-Bit Mode
. This means two
12-bit pixel values are packed into 3 bytes instead of 4 bytes.
The color codings are implemented via Vendor Unique Color_Coding according
to IIDC V1.31: COLOR_CODING_INQ @ 024hto033h, IDs=128-255)
See
Color interpolation (Bayer demosaicing)
The color sensors capture the color information via so-called primary color (R-
G-B) filters placed over the individual pixels in a
Bayer mosaic
layout. An
effective Bayer
RGB color interpolation already takes place in all Guppy PRO
color models.
