2.1.3.2. Configuring the MMC1000xx through the Ethernet Port
There are three different methods of configuring the MMC1000xx through the Ethernet Port, Web
Browser, Telnet and via SNMP Management Software. We will not cover SNMP management in this
manual as it will vary depending on the Network Management Software that is being used.
Note: MIB files can be located for the media converter on the CD-ROM, which can then be used
with your Network Management Software.
The default IP Address, Subnet Mask and Gateway addresses are shown below:
IP Address:
192.168.1.1
Subnet Mask:
255.255.255.0
Gateway:
192.168.1.254
To be able to communicate with the switch via the Ethernet port you will need to ensure that your
computer has an IP Address in the same subnet range.
Eg. 192.168.1.5
If using the web management open a web browser and enter the default IP Address of the switch
into the address bar.
You will now be prompted to log into the switch, the default username and password is shown
below:
