6 - MAINTENANCE
Loosen screws A and B (see photo), increase or decrease the tension of the belts adjusting screw C. Try to keep
shaft D always in a horizontal position.
When regulating the tension in the belts, watch out for levelling of the pulleys.
Press strongly with a weight of 6 kg on the belt; in the middle part between the two pulleys, to make a slight change
on the single belt’s shape of about 1 cm.
We strongly advise the use of a metal ruler with the right length which, when placed on the edges of the two pulleys, it
touches all four edges.
6.3 BLADES OR HAMMER REPLACEMENT
To replace damaged or broken hammers/blades:
-
Place the tractor and the machine on flat ground.
-
Pull up the machine as high as possible.
-
Place supports on either sides under the machine.
-
Switch off the tractor and pull engine brake.
-
Replace the hammer blades and tighten bolts properly .
The fixing of the pivots can be done with splits or bolts according to the model of the machine.
6.4 LUBRICATION / GREASING
Read carefully the instructions on the containers! Keep oil and grease always away from children.
Avoid contact with skin. After using these products, wash your hands carefully. Disposal of
used/old oil must be done in conformity with laws respecting environment.
Maintenance periods indicated in this manual are to be considered as a means of information since
these times are related to normal conditions of use. Variations can be done taking into
consideration the kind of service, the kind of environment, seasonal factors, weather conditions,
etc.
In case of more severe conditions, maintenance operations must definitely be increased.
-
Before pouring grease into the lubricators, it is necessary to clean the lubricators properly to
prevent mud, dust or other objects from getting mixed with the grease, and ruining the
lubrication effect.
- When changing the oil, it is necessary to keep using the same type of oil.
When using the machine for the first time, check lubricants level as described in the instructions. Before doing any
checks, re-settings or replacements of lubricants, clean well these parts.
Before you start, check always the oil level of the gears, check oil level led or the oil dipstick – if necessary refill oil
from the cap.
Oil must be changed after 30 working hours, subsequently after 400 working hours or at least once a year. This
operation must be performed in a workshop equipped with a strong lifting device that can carry the weight of the
machine and keeping it stable with the right supports. To empty oil : unscrew oil cap.
Every 8 working hours
- grease the P.T.O. shaft spider/cross
- grease bearings of the rotor
- check tightness of the fastening bolts
- check tension of belts
Every 5 working hours
- check oil level inside the overdrive box
Every 400 working hours
- change completely the oil of the overdrive, empty oil from the oil cap located below the overdrive box.
