5.2 Removal of an existing radiator thermostat
1. Set the radiator thermostat to the maximum value (see N in fig. left).
Now the thermostat head does not press any more on the valve spin-
dle, facilitating the installation.
2. Remove the radiator thermostat (see fig. left). It may be fixed in dif-
ferent ways:
Cap nut
: Unscrew the cap nut counter-clockwise (see O in fig. left) and
remove the radiator thermostat.
Snap-on fitting
: Release the closure and the cap nut by counter-clock-
wise rotation and remove the radiator thermostat.
Compression fitting
: Release the fixing ring screw and remove the ra-
diator thermostat.
Stud screw
: Release the stud screw and remove the radiator thermostat.
5.3 Installation of eTR
Installation is possible without draining heating water and without in-
tervention into the heating system. Installation is possible by means of
the metal nut or the supplied adapters.
If an error message is displayed (F1, F2, F3), press the setting wheel (see
„Device overview“ on page 23). The motor retracts to position “VALVE
install”.
5.3.1 Installation with metal nut
The metal nut (see „Device overview“ on page 23) allows installation
on all valves with the thread size M30 x 1.5 mm.

The existing radiator thermostat has been removed.
1. Position the device onto the valve.
2. Tighten the metal nut clockwise by hand.
