Bench Top Laying
The Nexsys UPS and EBP can be laid on their sides and stacked on top of
each other.
1.
Attach four adhesive backed rubber pads to the bottom of the UPS and
EBP chassis, about 1 inch (25 mm) from the corners.

Stack the UPS on top of the EBP or vice versa.
WARNING: Do not place the UPS and EBP on a surface that is unable
to fully support their combined weight.

4.2
RS-232 Communication
4.2.1
Introduction
This section describes how to monitor, control, and calibrate the UPS using
RS–232 ASCII commands and how to navigate through the program using the
menus.
Terminal emulation software is used to program the RS–232 serial interface.
Parameters and commands can be accessed through the menus or by typing a
number associated with the desired functions.
4.2.2
Terminal Emulation Set-up
If you are using a terminal emulation package, such as
Procomm, to communi-
cate with the UPS, use the following setup:
NOTE: The Back-Space and
Delete keys are ignored by the program.
If a command is typed in incorrectly, press Enter and type the
command again.
Microsoft Windows can also be used to set up these parameters:
•
Windows 3.x: Click the Terminal icon.
•
Windows 95 or Windows 98
path: Start/Programs/Accessories/Communica-
tions/Hyperterminal.
