3.9.8 Other Modes
The modes on this page do not automatically appear on the control panel LEDs. You start them
by pressing various combinations of the Mute/Test/Manual Start, % Batt and % Load buttons.
• Hot Swap
This locks the unit into Line mode regardless of any changes in the line’s condition. This
allows the batteries to be changed without shutting off the unit or the loads (Section 3.7).
• Generator
This broadens the unit’s input parameters to accommodate the voltage and frequency
fluctuations created by a backup generator or a noisy line (Section 3.8). If the unit con-
stantly switches back and forth between Line and Battery modes due to a noisy line,
changing the parameters to generator may reduce or eliminate the multiple transfers.
The factory default setting is normal where the unit runs on normal parameters as shown in
Figure 3.5.
