DESCRIPTION 

The  A L T E C   15948  Power  Amplifier  delivers  u p   t o  

100 

watts  of  output  power  for all 

of sound reinforcement 

Systems. 

I t   remains  stable  with  operating  conditions  o f  

line  voltages and  w i t h  all  types of  loads,  including 

long, unloaded speaker lines having considerable capacitance. 
Frequency  response  and  o u t p u t   power  characteristics  are 
shown i n  Figures  1 through 

A  switchable,  two-section 

filter  is provided t o  pro- 

tect driver loudspeakers f r o m  excessive low-frequency power 

demands. 

Active  Dissipation  Sensing  Circuit  provides  fail- 

safe  protection  for  the  output  transistors.  Circuit  action is 
immediate  and  effective  at all  frequencies  w i t h i n  the  pass- 
band o f  the amplifier, limiting o n l y  

portion of 

material  that  would  damage  or  degrade  the  output 
transistors.

The  42526  Shelf  Mount  Cover

front  panel  controls.  The  sides and t o p  extend beyond the

The  cover  provides  easier  handling f o r  portability  and i t  is 

sturdy  enough  t o  support  lightweight  equipment placed on 

of  it.  Four  polyethylene  feet  prevent  marring of  sur- 

faces.  The  A L T E C  green  finish matches  the front panel o f  
the

ment  rack,  or  i n   the  42526  Shelf  Mount  Cover  accessory

The  15948  generates  minimal heat  during normal  use.  A l -
