4.4 Jumpers
Explanation of Jumpers
To modify the operation of the motherboard, jumpers are used to choose between optional
settings. Jumpers create shorts between two pins to change the function associated with it.
Pin 1 is identified with a square solder pad on the printed circuit board. See the motherboard
layout page for jumper locations.
Note:
On a two-pin jumper, "Closed" means the jumper is on both pins and "Open" indicates
the jumper is either on only one pin or has been completely removed.

Watchdog
JWD1 controls the Watchdog function. Watchdog is a monitor that can reboot the system when
a software application hangs. Jumping pins 1-2 will cause Watch Dog to reset the system if an
application hangs. Jumping pins 2-3 will generate a non-maskable interrupt signal for the
application that hangs. Watchdog must also be enabled in BIOS. The default setting is Reset.
Note:
When Watchdog is enabled, the user must write their own application software to disable
it.

UID Enable and System Reset
Jumper JUID is used to enable onboard UID support, or to reset your system. Closing pins
1 and 2 enables UID (default); closing pins 2 and 3 resets your system.
