9. TRANSPORT

Children seats for car transport are developed

and tested for maximum safety for the young

users. Use as far as possible this kind of seat

and secure the user with car safety belts

when the user is transported in a car.

9.1 FOLDING FOR TRANSPORT

When the wheelchair is unoccupied, fold it

as described below. Put the wheelchair in the

trunk or back seat. Secure all parts and the

frame using belts.

•  Remove the seat and back cushions.

•  Remove the head support (Chapt. 6.17)

•  Fold down the push bow ( Chapt. 6.18)

•  Turn the anti-tips upwards (Chapt. 6.12)

•  Push the arm supports down (Chapt. 6.15)

•  Remove the leg supports (Chapt. 6.16)

•  Unscrew the star wheel on the bracket for

the backrest cylinder, and fold the back-

rest forward into the seat (Chapt. 6.7)

9.2 TRANSPORT IN CAR

Netti S is crash tested at Millbrook - UK, and

RISE - Sweden, and is approved according to

ISO 7176-19:2008 for being used as a seat in

a car. Max user weight 75 kg.

Before using Netti S as a seat in a car, be

sure to remove and secure all parts and

accessories that may fall off in case of an

accident.

Always use approved wheelchair and

occupant restraint system (ISO 10452:2012)

for fixing the wheelchair in the vehicle.

Netti S has been successfully crash tested

using a combined wheelchair and occupant

restraint system W120/DISR developed

by Unwin Safety Systems. For further

information: www.unwin-safety.com

FIXING THE WHEELCHAIR

The angle of the belts should be ca. 45° to
the floor. Tighten well. Lock the brakes.

Always use the occupant restraint belts

in the car for the wheelchair user.

The corrective

harnesses used in

a wheelchair are

not safety belts.

Make sure the

safety belts sits

close to the user

body

(not across the armrest or wheels etc.)

Raise the back support to an upright

position, lock the leg supports downwards

and tilt the seating unit 12° when the chair

is used as a seat in a car.

Netti S has been crash tested without

any power kit etc.

If, at a later point of time

a power kit, stair climber etc. is mounted,

check if your power assistant device is crash

tested and approved for wheelchairs being

used as seat in a car. If not this must be

dismounted when the wheelchair is used as

a seat in a car.

Netti S has been crash tested and

approved with Netti cushions. Always use

Netti Cushions when the wheelchair is used

as a seat in a car.

A correctly mounted Netti head

support is very stable but cannot replace a

approved car head support.

Never use the wheelchair as a seat in a

car if it has been involved in an accident

with impact.

In the front use belts
threaded around
the vertical frame
bar behind the front
castors. Pull out and
forwards. Labels show
where to fix the belts.

In the rear of the
chair, car fixing
brackets has to be
mounted to the
wheel brackets.

The bracket has
order number
88203.

Use hooks to fix
the belts to the car
fixing brackets.
