General Usage Information

The PXB is shipped with the straightedge locked in the middle of the board.

To release the straightedge, loosen both of the brake knobs (

A

). To lock the

straightedge in any position on the board, tighten the brake knobs gently.

(see

Figure 1

)

The PXB can be used in the flat or elevated position. Open or close the legs

(

D

) underneath for desired angle. Rubber grip tracks (

E

) under board catch

on the edge of a table to bring the drawing surface closer to the user and

increase the working angle for comfort.

(see

Figure 2

)

The straightedge is designed to be lifted slightly off the surface of

the board when sliding it up and down so that the work beneath it

is not damaged or smudged. There is sufficient clearance to put

3/16" foamboard under the straightedge.

To Fine Tune Straightedge Parallelism

There may be times when you tape a project to the board and find

that the existing lines aren’t exactly parallel to the straightedge.

Instead of pulling the project off and retaping, you can fine tune the parallelism of the straightedge.

Release brake knobs (

A

).

(see

Figure 1

)

Loosen (don’t unscrew completely) the fine tune parallel knob (

B

) on either side of the straightedge.

Adjust the position of the end bracket (

C

) until the straightedge is parallel with your work.

Retighten the fine tune parallel knob.
If additional fine tune adjustment is necessary, repeat on the opposite end of the straightedge.

To Adjust Parallelism When Fine Tuning Is Not Enough

Make sure the fine tune parallel knobs on both sides are tight (

B

).

(see

Figure 1

)

Release brake knobs (

).

(see

Figure 3

)

Loosen (don’t unscrew completely) one of the wire capture knobs (

G

) on either

side of the straightedge.

Make sure board is facing up and slide the end bracket (

H

) along the wire until the

straightedge reaches the desired parallel position.

Retighten the wire capture knob securely.
