3. Rotate the tool holder to the desired cutting position.
4. Turn the rotary selector back to the symbol . The tool holder is now locked.
Impacting only
For total crushing of concrete, masonry, etc. Turn the mode change switch to the position of the ham-
mer symbol. Use a chisel, cutting tool, etc.
ATTENTION:
Always use the side (auxiliary) handle during
operation and hold the tool firmly by the side handle and the switch handle.
ATTENTION:
Always make sure that the workpiece is secured before starting work.
ATTENTION:
Wear a dust mask and gloves when working.
ATTENTION:
Do not remove the tool by force, even if the drill jams. Loss of control can cause injuries.
NOTE:
If the battery is insufficiently warm, the tool functions may not be fully usable. In this case,
warm the battery by idling for a short time to allow the battery to operate at full power.
WARNING:
Do not cover the ventilation openings as this could overheat and damage the tool.
HAMMER DRILLING
ATTENTION:
The tool/drill is subjected to a huge and sudden torsional force when penetrating the
hole, when the hole is blocked with chips and particles or when hitting reinforcing bars embedded
in concrete. Always use the side handle during operation and hold the tool firmly by the side handle
and the switch handle. Failure to do so may result in loss of control of the tool and serious injury.
Set the mode change switch to the hammer and drill symbol. Place the drill bit in the desired hole
position, then press the shutter button. Do not press on the tool. Weak pressure gives the best results.
Keep the tool in place and prevent it from slipping out of the hole.
Do not apply further pressure if the hole is blocked with chips or particles. Instead, let the tool idle,
and then partially remove the drill bit from the hole. Repeating this procedure will clean the hole and
normal drilling can be resumed.
NOTE:
When working without load, eccentricity can occur when turning the drill. The tool is automat-
ically centred during operation. This does not affect the drilling accuracy.
CHOPPING, SCRAPING OR DEMOLITION
Set the mode change knob to the chopping symbol. Hold the tool firmly with both hands. Switch on
the tool and push the tool lightly so that the tool does not move uncontrollably.
Pressing hard on the tool will not increase its efficiency.
DRILLING INTO WOOD
ATTENTION:
Hold the tool firmly and be careful when the drill starts to penetrate the workpiece.
There is an enormous force on the tool/drill at the time of the hole penetration.
ATTENTION:
A jammed drill can be removed simply by setting the run switch to the reverse position
to return. However, if you do not hold it firmly, the tool may suddenly and quickly "run" back.
ATTENTION:
Always fasten the workpieces in a vice or a similar clamping device.
NOTE:
Never use "hammer drilling" if a drill chuck is mounted on the tool. This could damage the
chuck.
