Structure and function
The GreenDrill catch crop seed drill is used for spreading catch crops and resowing grass seed.
The seed dosed by the seeding wheels is conveyed into the seed hoses (1). The seed is placed within
the range of the soil tools.
The hopper (2) has a volume of 200 or 500 litres, depending on the version.
Dosing is carried out by a sowing shaft equipped with seed wheels, located in the dosing housing (3).
A 12V electric drive motor (4) drives the sowing shaft.
The speed of the electric motor is controlled either manually from the driver's seat or automatically,
depending on the speed of the tractor.
For ground-speed-dependent sowing shaft speed control (optional), the on-board computer must be
connected to the 7-pin standard socket on the tractor.
The seed drill is operated via an on-board computer in the tractor cab.
The keypad of the on-board computer 3.2 is used to switch the sowing shaft and blower fan on and
off. The speed of the sowing shaft can be adjusted.
The on-board computer 5.2 has a menu to perform the calibration test and to display the tractor speed,
worked area and working hours.
If on-board computer 5.2 is connected to the 7-pin tractor signal socket, the computer displays the
tractor speed [km/h] and adjusts the sowing shaft speed according to the varying tractor speed. The
sowing rate remains unchanged even at varying tractor speeds. If it is set correctly, speed differences
of 50% are adjusted up or down.
On-board computer 5.2 takes over the steering and control during operation. Even turning at the end
of the field is automatic. Manual operation of the on-board computer is not possible for the tractor
driver.
