Archive Operation

Back Up the Image
Database
NOTE: In the Sony drive use only Sony brand DGD150P (20
GB), DGD125P (12 GB) or DGD120P (4 GB) tapes for
the best tape drive performance.
NOTE: Tapes created on this unit can only be restored on units
with the Intellex v2.2 or later software. However, this unit
can restore tapes created on units with any version of the
Intellex software.
The Image Database Backup screens guide you step-by-step
through the backup process.
NOTE: Backing up the image database is a protected feature.
You must possess the Archive Enable privilege to
access it (see
To back up the image database:
1.
From the main screen, click the
Archive
button. The
Archive
Options
screen appears (see
2.
Click
Back up images to tape.
The opening Image Database
Backup screen appears.
3.
Select one of the following options and click
Next
:
Back up while recording —
Select this option to back up
the image database while recording (see
Stop recording and back up now —
Select this option to
stop recording and back up the image database immediately
(see
). This option is disabled if all
images in the image database have been archived.
Click
Cancel
to cancel the operation and return to the main
screen. Click
Help
to display online help for the screen.
Background Archiving
As mentioned above, select this option to back up the image
database while recording. This is called background archiving
because the unit continues normal operation. It archives in the
“background.”
NOTE: The Restore images from tape option is disabled during
background archiving.
NOTE: Background archiving when recording in circular mode
can result in the record database “catching up” to the
