Standard CMOS Setup
The AMI Hi-Flex BIOS Standard CMOS Setup utility
permits the end user to configure and set system
components such as floppy drives, hard disk drives, time
and date, monitor type, and keyboard.
Advanced CMOS Setup
The Advanced CMOS Setup allows the end user to
configure more advanced parts of memory configuration,
peripheral support, and power management support.
Advanced CMOS Setup is discussed in Section 3.
Default Settings
Every option in AMI BIOS Setup has two default values: a
power-on default and the BIOS Setup default.
Power-On Defaults
The power-on default settings consist of the safest set of
parameters. Use them if the system is behaving erratically.
They should always work but do not provide optimal
system performance characteristics.
Setup Defaults
The BIOS Setup default values provide optimum
performance settings for all devices and system features.
