Password Options Control Prompt
Enter Current Password:
If the AMI BIOS Setup Password option is implemented
and used, the above prompt appears when the system is
booted. If
Always
was set in Advanced CMOS Setup, the
prompt appears when the system is powered on. If
Setup
was set in Advanced CMOS Setup, the prompt appears
when Setup is run.
Using a Password
The end user must enter the new password when the
password prompt appears and then press <Enter>. The end
user may be able to enter the default password if CMOS
RAM is corrupted. The end user should keep a record of the
new password when the password is changed. If the end
user forgets the password and password protection is
enabled, the only way to boot the system is to replace the
CMOS RAM chip, rebooting, and reconfiguring the system.
