Section 4 Power Management Setup
Choose Power Management Setup from the AMIBIOS Setup main menu. All
Power Management Setup options are described in this section.
ACPI Aware O/S Set this option to Yes if the operating system you are running under
complies with the Intel ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface)
specification. The settings are Yes or No. The Optimal and Fail-Safe default
settings are No.
Power Management/APM Set this option to Enabled to enable the chipset power
management and APM (Advanced Power Management) features. The settings
are Enabled or Disabled. The Optimal and Fail-Safe default settings are
Disabled.
Power Button Function This option specifies how the power button mounted externally on the
computer chassis is used. The settings are:
Setting
Description
On/Off
Pushing the power button turns the computer on or off.
Suspend
Pushing the Power button places the computer in Suspend
mode or Full On power mode.
The Optimal and Fail-Safe default settings are On/Off.
Instant On Support Set this option to Enabled to enable AMIBIOS support for the Intel
InstantON specification. The settings are Enabled or Disabled. The Optimal
and Fail-Safe default settings are Disabled.
Green PC Monitor Power State This option specifies the power state that the green PC-
compliant video monitor enters when AMIBIOS places it in a power saving
state after the specified period of display inactivity has expired. The settings
are Standby, Suspend, or Off. The Optimal and Fail-Safe default settings are
Disabled.
