IDE Prefetch Read Buffer
The IDE prefetch read buffer allows data from the hard disk drive to be read to a buffer before being used, which improves
performance. Set this option to
Enabled
to enable the prefetch read buffer. The settings are
Enabled
or
Disabled.
The Optimal
setting is
Enabled.
This option must be set to
Disabled
when some operating systems are running.
Serial Port 1
Use this option to specify the base I/O port address used for onboard serial port 1. The settings are
Disabled, 2E8h, 3F8h,
or
3E8h.
The serial port uses eight consecutive I/O port addresses (for example: 3F8h through 3FFh). The Optimal default
setting is
3F8h.
Serial Port 2
Use this option to specify the base I/O port address used for onboard serial port 2. The settings are
Disabled, 3E8h, 2F8h,
or
2E8h.
The Optimal default setting is
2F8h.
Parallel Port
Use this option to specify the base I/O port address used for the onboard parallel port. The settings are
Disabled, 278h,
or
378h.
The Optimal default setting is
378h.
