NSTALLATION
CAUTION
The module contains ESD sensitive circuitry. Follow appropriate
handling and grounding procedures to prevent damage to the
module. The module should be handled by the enclosure, with
care to protect the connectors from ESD discharges.
CAUTION
Input power must be disconnected from the Mainframe before a
module is inserted or extracted. Inserting or extracting a module
with power installed (hot-swapping) could result in damage to the
module or Mainframe. Prior to turning power on, ensure that front
panel captive fasteners are tightened.
Modules are installed into the Mainframe from the front of the chassis. Refer to
Figure 3-3 for the orientation of a module and Mainframe during installation.
1. Ensure that the AC/DC input power is disconnected before
installing or removing any module(s).
2. Insert the module into the mainframe, rear panel first, aligning the
module guide rails the top and bottom Mainframe guides.
3. Gently slide the module completely into the mainframe until the
guide pins of the module rear connector engage the mating
backplane connector.
4. Fully seat the module until the front panel inner surface is snug
against the mainframe chassis.
5. Secure the module(s) to the Mainframe at the top and bottom of
each front panel by turning the captive thumb screws clockwise
with a flat head screwdriver to a maximum torque of 20 in-lb.
6. Install a filler panel over any empty slot, and secure in place at the
top and bottom by turning the captive thumb screws clockwise
with a flat head screwdriver to a maximum torque of 20 in-lb.
