Chapter 5: Connecting to the DL422-E-Series
The DL422-B and DL422-E-Series use the same circuit board; however in
the DL422-E-Series only
some
of the possible connections are brought to
the exterior of the box.
External Connectors
NOTE
: DL422-E-series units bring only serial instrument, GPS, and radio
connectivity to the exterior of the weather-tight enclosure, as indicated in the table below:

Make sure
that each DL422-E-Series external connection port is either
(1) mated with a properly seated matching connector sealed to its cable
or
(2) is covered by the attached cap pushed in place.
Do not apply power
to the DL422-E-Series in
WET CONDITIONS
if any external connection ports are
exposed.
DL422-E-Series to Serial Input (Including TriSonica Sphere and Pipe-Mount sensors)
The DL422 Serial Input connector uses the same 12-socket circular IP67 connector found at the base
of the TriSonica Sphere and Pipe-Mount sensors. Figure 3: DL422 Pinout shows the signal
connections and positions when looking at the connector from outside the enclosure.
Connecting to TriSonica Sensors
Either end of an Anemoment 12-pin double-terminated cable may be connected to the DL422
external Serial Connector, and a TriSonica sensor attached to the other end of the cable.
Connecting to Other Serial Instruments
A serial instrument other than a TriSonica sensor may be connected to the DL422 by wiring the
serial instrument to an Anemoment 12-pin single-terminated cable with blunt-cut end. Table 3 gives
the signal-name-to-wire-color match for the Anemoment 12-pin single-terminated cable. The
user is
responsible for correctly attaching the wires
from the serial instrument to the mating connector,
and
for properly sealing
the connector-to-cable interface.

Anemoment does not provide the GPS receiver.

Anemoment does not provide a Radio transceiver. The user must choose a properly certified and licensed
radio module appropriate for the user’s region.
