Data Logger 422 User Manual 

Menu Interface Mode (MIM) 

When the DL422 has been connected to a terminal emulator program the data stream produced by 

the DL422 begins scrolling up the screen. This is normal 

Sampling Mode. 

If an SD Card has been 

inserted into the DL422, the data is saved in the storage file on the SD Card.  

IMPORTANT: 

When the DL422 is in MIM all data sampling is 

stopped

, and the storage file is 

closed

A

LL INCOMING DATA ARE LOST WHILE THE 

DL422

 UNIT IS IN 

MIM. 

 

Enter

 MIM by 

pressing the ESC key

 on the keyboard of the computer to which the 

DL422 has been attached as described above. The user will then see the Main Menu on 
the terminal emulator screen. 

 

Exit

 MIM from the Main Menu by 

pressing either the X or Zero key:

  

IMPORTANT:       

   X is TEMPORARY.   

0 (Zero) is STORED. 

Pressing the 

X

 exits MIM and returns the DL422 to Sampling Mode. All settings changes 

made while in Menu Interface Mode are 

TEMPORARY 

and are 

active

 

ONLY

 until the 

next 

reset

. After a reset the settings return to the previously stored settings. 

Pressing the 

0 (zero) 

exits the Menu Interface Mode and returns the DL422 to sampling 

mode. All settings changes made while in the menu are 

STORED

 and 

remain

 in memory 

for use after any reset.  

General Use Description – Main Menu 

The MIM Main Menu lists sub-menus for configuring equipment function and data stream settings. 

To enter a sub-menu, press the letter key shown to the left of the option on the menu list.
