Acceptable Seating Locations - Additional Information:

- Some vehicle seat belts in the center rear seating 

location may be too short to fit around car bed.  

DO NOT

use a belt extender.  Move car bed to 

another seating location on passenger side of vehicle.

- Only use vehicle seats with seat backs that are locked

in an upright position.  Check that seat back is locked.

- When possible, keep location next to infant’s head clear 

of passengers or any objects such as child restraints,
vehicle arm rests, boxes, groceries and medical
equipment.

Never Use These Seating Locations:

• Rear Vehicle Seat:

- Never use car bed on the driver’s side of vehicle.

• Front Vehicle Seat:

- Never use car bed in front seat with an 

air bag.

- For vehicles with front passenger side

air bag, refer to vehicle owner’s manual
for child restraint installation instructions.

• Vehicle Seats Which Face the Side or Rear of the Vehicle:

-  Never use car bed on vehicle seats which face the

rear of the vehicle.

• Vehicle Seats Which Face the Side of the Vehicle:

-  Never use car bed on vehicle seats which face the

side of the vehicle.

DO NOT place rear-facing child seat 
on front seat with air bag.  DEATH OR
SERIOUS INJURY can occur.
The back seat is the safest place for
children 12 and under.

INSTALLING CAR BED IN VEHICLE

To prevent serious injury or death to infant:

• Follow car bed instructions and vehicle owner’s manual to 

properly locate, position and secure car bed at all times.

• Secure car bed with vehicle seat belt as shown in this manual.

• Car bed must be held securely at all times by vehicle seat belt.

Position car bed in an acceptable seating location.  See “Choosing Vehicle
Seating Location” section.

Make sure all four feet
are resting on the vehicle 
seat bottom and back side
of car bed is against the
vehicle seat back.

Secure car bed:

• Position vehicle seat belt.

Be sure vehicle seat belt is not 
twisted.

Thread vehicle lap belt through 
all three car bed belt guides and 
buckle vehicle seat belt.

NOTE:

Vehicle shoulder belt must

through car bed belt guides.

Tighten vehicle lap belt:

• Press down firmly in center of car bed to compress 

vehicle seat cushion while tightening vehicle lap belt.
