PLACING INFANT IN CAR BED

Consult doctor or hospital staff about how infant should be positioned for travel.
Premature and/or low birth weight infants have special medical needs that will
influence how infant should be positioned in the car bed.

• Always position infant on their back unless advised by a pediatrician or hospital

designated medical staff to position infant on their stomach or on their right
side.

• If infant is positioned on right side, consult pediatrician or hospital designated

medical staff about padding under head to support head and maintain an open
airway.

- DO NOT use pillows or other soft items to pad under head.
- DO NOT place padding under child’s torso or harness.

• Consult doctor or hospital staff on how to properly secure medical equipment.

To prevent serious injury or death in a sudden stop or crash:

• Properly secure medical equipment outside car bed.

WARNING

To prevent serious injury or death from ejection in a crash:

• Properly position and secure infant.

• Car bed harness straps must be positioned over the shoulders

and crotch and snugly adjusted each time it is used.

DO NOT

use clothing or outerwear that will interfere with a snug fit
of car bed harness.

• Harness straps must not be twisted.

DO NOT

position infant on its left side.

• Use only parts or accessories made by AngelGuard.  Parts or

accessories such as strap covers, cushions, or padding from
