VEHICLE SEAT BELTS
To prevent serious injury or death to infant:
• Car bed must be held securely at all times by a vehicle seat belt
(or lap belt portion of a lap/shoulder belt) that will stay secure
while driving.
•
DO NOT
use vehicle seat belt systems that will not securely hold
the car bed at all times.
WARNING
Carefully read this section for information on vehicle seat belt systems and also
refer to vehicle owner’s manual and any labels on vehicle’s seat belt. If you are
unsure whether vehicle seat belts are safe to use with the car bed, contact vehicle
manufacturer or call AngelGuard at 1-330-723-5928.
Vehicle Seat Belt Systems Suitable For Use With Car Bed:
The following vehicle seat belt systems can be used with the car bed if the seat
location meets all other requirements in these instructions and the requirements in
vehicle owner’s manual.
Vehicle Lap Belts:
•
Manually adjustable lap belt - manually adjustable
and stays tight.
This type of vehicle seat belt is tightened by pulling
on the excess belt once it is buckled. This type of
vehicle seat belt is most often found in rear center
seating locations .
•
Lap belt with automatic locking retractor -
automatically adjusts length but cannot lengthen
once it is buckled.
This belt has an automatic locking retractor (A.L.R.)
that does not allow the vehicle seat belt to lengthen
without unbuckling the vehicle seat belt and starting
over .

latch plate that will not allow the lap portion of the
lap/shoulder belt to loosen. This vehicle seat belt does
not require a locking clip .
•
Lap/shoulder combination belt with a latch plate
that can slide freely along the vehicle seat belt.
This vehicle seat belt requires a locking clip, unless
vehicle seat belt can be converted in another way as
described in the vehicle owner’s manual. See vehicle
owner’s manual to find out if vehicle seat belt can be
converted to prevent movement of the lap portion
of the seat belt. Otherwise, the locking clip MUST
be used .
To install locking clip (stored on back of car bed):
-
Install car bed and tighten vehicle seat belt.
- Hold vehicle seat belts together at latch plate and
unbuckle.
- Slide locking clip on seat belts approximately
1/2 inch (1 cm) away from latch plate .
