• Keep the solar cell light’s surface free of dirt and debris as the battery might not fully charge

• Wipe the solar cell light regularly with a damp cloth or kitchen paper
• Check and replace the battery as necessary

TRoUBLESHooTING
• If the solar cell light does not come on when it starts getting dark in the evening, it might be due
to one of the following:
– The switch is in the off position
– The battery is not fully charged or needs to be replaced
• Ensure that the solar cell light is positioned so that it receives the maximum amount of direct sunlight
during the day Allow the battery to charge for an entire, sunny day Cloudy weather can mean that
the battery does not fully charge and that the light does not come on in the evening However,
charging continues on the next sunny day and once the battery is fully charged, the light will come
on again Replace the battery as necessary, particularly after the winter Use the same type of
batteries as are in the the solar cell light on delivery
• If the solar cell light is positioned too close to other sources of light, eg a streetlamp, floodlight or
another solar cell light, it is possible that it won’t turn on when darkness starts to fall The built-in
light sensor is sensitive to other nearby sources of light Turn off other lighting or move the solar cell
light
• If the solar panel is dirty, the battery will not fully charge This will shorten the battery’s service life
and result in the solar cell light not functioning as intended Clean the solar cell light regularly with
a damp cloth or kitchen paper
• When the problem has been rectified, check that the light works again, either during the evening
or in a dark room If the light only comes on briefly, the battery needs to be charged
