To set the monitor arc of oscillation, complete the following steps.
Oscillation limits are listed on Page 1. See Figure 4 for adjustment
locations.
1. Remove cover from oscillating mechanism enclosure.
2. Loosen the pair of front adjustment nuts (9/16 in.). Then spin
nuts to front end of threaded rod.
3. Loosen the pair of rear adjustment nuts (9/16 in.). Then spin
nuts to rear end of threaded rod.
4. Manually rotate monitor to right stop (valve may click at this
time).
5. Manually rotate monitor to left stop until valve clicks.
6. Manually rotate monitor until rear end of brass tube is 6 3/ 4 in.
(17.1 cm) from rear of chassis.
7. Check that monitor is positioned at the center of the desired
arc of oscillation. If monitor IS at desired center, proceed to
Step 8. If monitor IS NOT at desired center position, complete
the following steps before proceeding to Step 8.
a. Remove front cover plate to expose chain and sprocket.
b. Remove bolt that secures clevis assembly.
c. Detach clevis assembly from chassis and remove chain
from base coupling sprocket.
d. Rotate monitor to center of desired arc.
e. Reinstall chain and secure clevis assembly. (Make certain
washers are still in place on both sides of chassis.)
f. Reinstall front cover plate.
8. Manually rotate monitor right to desired arc of oscillation posi-
tion.
9. Slide end-stop tube B into front of brass cylinder.
10. Spin front adjustment nuts until they contact end-stop tube B.
11.Manually rotate monitor left to approximate center of desired
arc.
12. Spin front adjustment nuts toward end-stop tube B an addi-
tional 9/16 in. (9 turns). Lock adjustment nuts by tightening
them together.
13. Manually rotate monitor to right stop until valve clicks.
14. Manually rotate monitor left to desired arc of oscillation posi-
tion.
15. Slide end-stop tube A into back of brass cylinder.
16. Spin back adjustment nuts until they contact end-stop tube A.
17. Manually rotate monitor right to approximate center of desired
arc.
18. Spin rear adjustment nuts toward end-stop tube A an addi-
tional 9/16 in. (9 turns). Lock adjustment nuts by tightening
them together.
19. Reinstall cover onto oscillating mechanism enclosure.
20. Test monitor oscillation by referring to Monitor Testing on
