5.1 ADJUSTING THE BARRIER
BALANCING
The operator is always supplied complete with helical
springs -see figures- used to balance the barrier;
the fi rst (internal) spring is housed inside the second
(external) spring. Springs have not necessarily to
be used together. For the choice of the most correct
compensation in relation to the beam length, proceed
according to the following instructions.
Information
Proceed in adjusting taking into account that any
accessory part (articulated foot, skirt, articulated
beam) will increase the barrier weight.
To remove the springs, proceed as follows:
1 -
Open the inspection casing, make sure power
is off and unlock the oil-dynamic control unit
by rotating the special knob by 90° counter-
clockwise.
2 -
Hand-raise the barrier to relieve the springs.
Warning
!
In this condition, the unlocked barrier can fall
down.
3 -
Lock the oil-dynamic control unit by rotating the
knob by 90° clockwise.
4 -
Unscrew the nuts, remove the spring and refi t the
remaining elements.
5 -
Unlock the oil-dynamic control unit by rotating the
knob by 90° counter-clockwise; then hand-lower
the barrier.
Warning
!
When unlocked, the barrier loses its stability. Make
sure it cannot move down abruptly causing damage
to persons or things.
6 -
Adjust the spring compression acting on the nuts
until achieving the correct compensation. Also act
on the ball-joint screw if necessary.
Information
The correct balancing is achieved when the barrier
tends to stabilise at about 45° from any position.
7 -
Close the barrier by hand.
