Set Up Instructions
1. Remove all components from the packaging
and check for any damage or other problems.
Rinse the following in clean tap water – tank
and lid, filter, including filter media. Any
ornaments (not included) should also be
rinsed.
Do NOT use any chemicals or detergents.
Do NOT rinse the light unit or the power
supply.
2. Select the location for your aquarium. Avoid
direct sunlight and areas where temperatures
fluctuate greatly such as near heaters or air
conditioners.
3. Place the aquarium on a flat level surface
strong enough to support its weight. Be aware
that the Betta Haven will weigh around 10kg
when full.
4. Wash gravel (not included). Place the gravel
in a clean bucket and place under a running
tap. Churn the gravel in the bucket with your
hand until the water running out of the bucket is
clear.
5. Gently place the gravel into the aquarium.
6. Add any rocks or ornaments into the
aquarium. Take care not to scratch the sides of
the aquarium.
7. Carefully fill the aquarium with water so that
it is about 2/3 full.
8. Place the heater in the aquarium using the
suction cups by pressing firmly against the wall
of the aquarium. Ensure that the heater body is
not touching the sides of the aquarium and that
the bottom is not in the gravel. (Fig. 2 and 4)
DO NOT PLUG IT IN UNTIL THE AQUARIUM
IS COMPLETELY FILLED WITH WATER
9. Place the filter on the back wall of the
aquarium using the suction cups by pressing
firmly against the wall of the aquarium. (Fig. 2
and 4)
10. Add more water so that the aquarium is
completely full.
11. Add water conditioner and biostarter (not
included) according to instructions.
12. Put the lid on the aquarium.
13. Connect the power cords to the light unit
(Fig 3.) and place it on the lid.
14. Ensure that your hands are dry and plug
the power cords into a power outlet. Once the
unit is turned on at the power outlet, the filter
should start automatically.
15. To turn the light on, use the power switch
located on the back of the unit (Fig 3.)
16. Check that all equipment is running
correctly. Use a thermometer (not included) to
check the water temperature.
17. Allow the aquarium to run for at least 24
hours before adding fish.
