Maintenance and Trouble Shooting
WATER FLOW IN THE AQUARIUM
HAS DROPPED
1. Intake strainer clogged. Remove any solid
particles from intake strainer.
2. Media or pump are dirty. Clean filter and
powerhead.
WATER FLOW HAS STOPPED
1. Check that power cords are all connected
properly.
2. Pump is clogged. Clean powerhead
TEMPERATURE IS TOO LOW.
1. Check that heater is plugged in.
2. Ensure that the filter flow rate has not
dropped as this will stop the heat circulating
properly.
3. Check the ambient temperature where the
aquarium is located. If the location is very
cold, the aquarium may need to be moved to
a warmer location.
LIGHT DOES NOT TURN ON.
Check all power cords are properly
connected.

3. Remove the impeller cover to allow access
to the impeller.
4. Pull the impeller from the motor and rinse
under running water. Use a pipe brush to
clean the impeller and the impeller chamber.
Rinse all components to remove any debris
that has been left.
5. Re-assemble the pump
6. Remove and rinse the filter cartridges
in water that has been removed from the
aquarium.
NEVER RINSE CERAMIC NOODLES,
BIO CARTRIDGE OR SPONGES WITH
TAPWATER
Note that the carbon cartridge should be
replaced every 6-8 weeks
7. Rinse the body of the filter in a bucket of
water from the aquarium. Use a sponge to
clean off any algae on the filter. Use a pipe
brush to clean the duckbill outlet.
Ensure that the ceramic noodle chamber is
flushed out well to remove any solid debris.
8. Reassemble filter and replace pump.
9. Place filter back into the aquarium.
10. Ensure your hands are dry, plug the pump
in at the power outlet and switch it on.
11. Check that the filter is working correctly.
