Changing the fluorescent tubes:
Every 12 months the light tubes need to be changed.
In order to do this follow these instructions. If you have
any doubts about performing this procedure, please
take the light unit to your specialist aquarium retailer.
1. Turn the light unit off at the power source, allow it
time to cool.
2. Remove the light unit from its fixtures.
3. Turn the unit upside down so you can see the
tubes.
4. Slide the plastic splash panel out. Place it somewhere
safe, where it will not be stepped on.
Trouble Shooting
Light does not work:
1. Ensure the plug is inserted correctly and the switch
is in the “on” position.
2. The fluorescent tubes may require replacing.
3. The fluorescent tubes may not be inserted correctly.
Follow the instructions in the previous section to open
the unit and check the tubes.
4. Not all tubes are working. It is important that all tubes
are working. If one tube is not working correctly it will
affect the operation of the other tubes.
5. Remove the old tubes and place them somewhere
safe, where they will not roll off or be stepped on.
6. Remove the new tube from its packaging and insert
it into the tomb stones as soon as it is removed from
the packet and twist it to lock it back into position.
7. Place the old tubes in the used pack from the new
one and dispose of sensibly or mark as used and store
them somewhere safe where children can not touch
them.
8. Reassemble the unit in reverse order.
9. Test the light unit prior to reinstalling it. Let it run for
approximately 5 minutes before switching it off. Let the
unit cool before putting it back into position.
WARNING
THE POWER SUPPLY CORD MUST BE SWITCHED
OFF AT THE POWER SOURCE BEFORE CARRYING
OUT ANY MAINTENANCE TO THE LIGHT UNIT.
