Measure the distance between the top of the back horizontal flange and the bottom of the pan
ledge, approximately 1-1/2” (40mm). Mark this dimension on the back studs (or wall), below
the first mark.

Install drain assembly per manufacturer’s instructions. (Optional) Mix foundation material. Place three or four
mounds on the subfloor around but away from drain hole. The mounds should be placed high enough so that when
the unit is set, it will cause the plaster to displace and spread.

Tap down until level. Level lengthwise and widthwise using 3 ft. (915mm)
level by shimming or depressing foundation materials.
The unit must be set level. Apron should be firmly on the floor.

Fasten a 1” x 3” (25mm x 75mm) ledger strip along rear of alcove and
along both sides (immidiately below the lower marks made on framing).

Place base into framing pocket.

Pre-drill horizontal flanges along top of base section and fasten into each corresponding stud.
Pre-drill both (vertical) side flanges and fasten to side studs 8” (200mm) on center.
Place cardboard to protect finish.
