A59 Dual Directional Coupler
A59 is a 50 dB dual directional coupler which is connected to the output of the A58 Two-way combiner. The
coupler monitors the forward and reflected power.

Detector Assembly
The two detectors (DT1, DT2) are connected to the forward and reflected coupled ports of A59. The DC
outputs are fed to the A66 ALC board which uses these signals to protect the amplifier, display forward and
reverse power, and to provide leveled RF output.
3.3 POWER SUPPLIES (PS1, PS2, PS3 AND PS4)
Power supply PS1 supplies a +5VDC housekeeping supply for the control system assemblies A60
Control/Fault Board, A61 Interface Board, and A66 ALC board.
PS1 also su15.0 VDC at 2.5 amps and -15 VDC at 1 amp. These are both fed to the A65 Regulator
board assembly. PS1 is a switching supply that automatically sets the AC input circuits to the correct
connections for the line voltage 200-260 VAC input ranges 50-60 Hz.
PS2 su24 VDC to Fan Assemblies B1-B4, B7-B14 and B17-B20.
PS3 and PS4 25.7 VDC at 67 amps. PS2 and PS3 are switching power supplies that automatically
set the AC input circuits to the correct connections for the line voltage 200-260 VAC, 50-60 Hz.
PS3 and PS4 25.7 VDC to quad amplifiers A2, A8, A10-A13, A15, A24-A27, A32-A47 and A52-
A55 to provide the drain voltage for these amplifiers.
3.3.1
A65 Regulator Board (Schematic 10047637)
The A65 regulator board has four (4) regulators for the RF amplifier stages.
U1 is a positive adjustable regulator (+15 VDC). This regulator supplies the drain voltage for the A1 preamp
RF output stage in addition to inhibit circuitry to power the +15 VDC drain voltage on and off.
U2 is a negative adjustable regulator (-5 VDC). This regulator supplies voltage for the gate voltages of the
A2, A8, A10-A13, A15, A24-A27, A32-A47, A52-A55 Quad Amplifiers.
U3 is a fixed negative regulator (-5 VDC). This regulator supplies an operational voltage for the onboard
inhibit circuitry.
U4 is a fixed negative regulator (-12 VDC). This regulator supplies voltage for the gate voltage of the A1
preamp.
