Cable length
The maximum permissible line length for the DC link is 2
m.
The maximum permissible line length for the motor phases is 10
m.
Shielding
To observe the EMC requirements, only shielded cables may be used for
the motor line as well as the DC link line.
Line
The line must be able to carry the current; this holds true for the thermal
continuous current as well as the peak current. In addition, the line must
be approved for the voltage class used.
In order to ensure that the screw fittings do not leak, the permissible di-
ameter of the line must be observed for the seal as well as the shield. See
chapter 3.7.6.
A correct and standards-compliant assembly must be ensured.
CAUTION!
DC link polarity
An incorrect connection in the DC link will lead to the destruction of the
VECTOPOWER
®
device.
DANGER!
Danger of electric shock
Before you remove the cover to access the terminal block, you must en-
sure that:
-
No DC link voltage is present
-
No DC link voltage can be connected
-
The motor is not turning and cannot turn.
In the case of a synchronous motor, a voltage is generated during rotation
that would be present at the power terminals in the VECTOPOWER
®
de-
vice in this case. This is important especially when the motor is used as a
generator and is driven by a diesel generator, for example.
