Troubleshooting
Problem: Engine will not start or is hard to start (White smoke present)
Condition

Problem: Engine will not start or is hard to start - smoke present (Compression too low)
Condition

Piston rings
worn excessively

Cylinder bore

Starter motor
cranks too slowly - does not turn
1. Adjust clearance

Bearings

1. Replace bearings and/or crankshaft
