6. Start the engine and drive the ATV to warm up the rear drive;
then check for any leaks around the drain and fill plugs.
HYDRAULIC BRAKES
Brake Fluid
Check the brake fluid level in the
hand brake fluid reservoir. If the
level in the reservoir is below the
lower mark in the sight glass, add
DOT 4 brake fluid.
Check the brake fluid level in the
auxiliary brake fluid reservoir.
If the level in the reservoir is below
the LOWER mark, add DOT 4
brake fluid.
Brake Hoses
Carefully inspect the hydraulic brake hoses for cracks or other dam-
age. If found, take the ATV to an authorized Arctic Cat ATV dealer
to have the brake hoses replaced.
Brake Pads
The clearance between the brake pads and brake discs is adjusted
automatically as the brake pads wear. The only maintenance that is
required is replacement of the brake pads when they show excessive
wear. Check the condition of each of the brake pads as follows:
! WARNING
Be sure to inspect the hydraulic brake system before each use.
Always maintain brakes according to the Maintenance Schedule.
! CAUTION
Be careful not to spill any fluid when filling the brake fluid
reservoir. Wipe away spilled fluid immediately.
